About Department

History of the Department:

In the June 1978 college was established in the remote area of Sahyadri valley in Karad tehsil of the Satara district. In the beginning only Science faculty was initiated. English was taught as a compulsory subject for the B,Sc.I and B.Sc.III classes. Then in the year 1995 Arts stream was established and from then onwards English has been taught only as a compulsory subject due to lack of enough student for English as a special subject. In the year 2007 Commerce stream was established and from then onward English has been taught as a compulsory subject for the three streams for B.A. I, II, III; B. Com. I, II and B.Sc. I, IIIclasses.
